A Full or Part Time Career that Makes a Difference

Whether you’re a life coach who’s been around the block a few times, or just entering the coaching profession and want to get it right the first time, or somewhere in between, I know you want to make a significant difference in your client’s lives. Isn’t that why we were all called to coaching?

Sure, the lifestyle sounds enticing — being able to work from your home, to serve clients around the world by phone, as well as locally in person, and to make a good living while making a real difference.

So, how’s that turning out for you?

What’s Wrong with this Picture?

While it’s true that the coaching profession is one of the fastest growing professions in the world, right now many coaches are struggling — begging for business.

Perhaps you’ve been lulled into the profession with some of the hype marketing that says how easy it is to be a coach. Well, it may be fairly easy to become a coach, but building a thriving and profitable coaching business — that’s the part of the story many coaching schools don’t talk about.

Starting and growing a small business is rarely easy, and that goes for just about any business, and it may be particularly true for a coaching business. Let’s face it, most people still don’t know the profession exists, on top of which some of the media coverage is derogatory in nature, calling coaching a New Age fad, or worse.

And yet, there’s something about coaching that keeps calling to you, time and time again. If you’re already a coach with at least a few years of experience under your belt, you know firsthand that building a coaching business isn’t easy, but you may also be wondering if there’s not something out there that can make it just a little easier.

Or perhaps you’re just now being called to the coaching field and you’re looking for just the right coaching program that will help you get out of the starting gate as fast as possible — that will make a significant difference with your clients even in the early phase as you’re learning how to coach and build your practice.

Or perhaps, you’ve experienced the power of the Life On Purpose Process and you know firsthand the difference it can make in people’s lives, and you feel called to offer it to others.

What it Takes to Cut it as a Life Coach

Have you been a victim of the hype that’s so prevalent about the coaching profession. You know, the reports that say you can enter into a coaching program for a few months, then upon graduation make $75,000 or more in the first year, working from anywhere in the world, easily and almost effortlessly? If that’s true, how come so many trained coaches are barely making it, even after years in the profession.

Could it be that becoming an effective coach — someone who can help people improve their lives — is only half the equation? Yes, it’s an important part — just not the whole picture. Maybe moving from being a ‘non-coach’ to a highly effective and successful coach takes just a bit more — maybe even a lot more.

If you’ve ever tried to cut a piece of paper with just one-half of a pair of scissors, you know it just doesn’t work that well.

It takes both halves of the scissors to cut it.

The same is true in the coaching profession. Making it in the world of coaching takes not only being trained to be an effective coach, but you also need guidance in how to become a successful coach.

The principle is the same if you want to become an effective and successful plumber, dentist, or just about any profession or career. It takes more than just knowing how to do the work of that profession or career, especially if you’re going to be self employed.

To become both effective as a coach and successful as a coach requires three important ingredients:

  • Picking the right form of coaching that really resonates with you, and that lots of people can benefit from,
  • Realizing that most people are more open to coaching when it’s offered as a proven, systematic process or program, especially if it will help them solve one or more of their BIG problems,
  • Developing your abilities to be a small business owner / entrepreneur as well as a coach.

Is the Coaches Mentoring Program a Fit for You?

First off, we don’t try to be everything for everyone. Life On Purpose Institute’s entire focus is around life purpose:

  • Helping people identify their purpose,
  • Helping them live true to it, and
  • Helping others be able to guide and coach others to living a life on purpose. So we know that becoming a Life On Purpose Coach isn’t for everyone, which is why one of the first steps to becoming a Life On Purpose Coach is to experience the Life On Purpose Process yourself either by being coached by one of our certified coaches or through one of our group programs.

Our coaching approach to life purpose uses a proven, systematic, spiritually based and practical coaching model that has helped thousands of people over the past 16-years to clarify their life purpose and then design their life to be a true and authentic reflection of that purpose. What this means for you as a coach, is that your clients will enjoy being guided along a proven, program-oriented path. This also means you can begin to coach people much more quickly and easily while still providing profound and lasting value to your clients, which results in happier, more satisfied clients who are then excited to refer other clients to you.

The Missing Half of the Scissors
But besides training you to coach people through the Life On Purpose Process, during the yearlong Coaches Mentoring Program you will receive personal, customized coaching and mentoring in the greatest missing elements of most other training programs — the entrepreneurial training to help you build a successful coaching business that’s true to your purpose and that’s filled with passion and play.

The Coach Mentoring Program — Not a Cookie Cutter Program

• The content includes much of the material covered in our very popular and successful Coaches Development Program on how to effectively guide individuals through the Life On Purpose Process, as well as how to guide groups through the Process.

The Coaches Mentoring Program is shaped by these three intentions:

Become a Citizen of Who-ville

This past March 2nd was Dr. Seuss’s birthday. He would have been 108 years old this year.  So, I thought it appropriate to spend a little time reading one of my favorite Dr. Seuss’s books — Horton Hears a Who.  After all, I’ve been feeling a little like a citizen from Who-ville lately, so I…

Being coached by Brad  through the Life on Purpose process has truly been life-changing. Not only did he help me to gain crystal clarity about my life purpose, he helped me to uncover what had been holding me back for much of my life. Through the coaching, I became clear about what was the next step that I wanted to take in my life.

My life has gotten better in many ways as a result of the coaching: the major anxiety that I experienced around my work is a thing of the past – I learned why I was experiencing this anxiety, and then how to overcome it and I can’t believe how effective it was.

I have been able to establish a habit of taking daily time for myself to reconnect with what’s truly important – this is something that I had tried and failed to do for 10 years beforehand, so I am so happy to have been able to achieve this.

I have been experiencing so many more feelings of joy, happiness and abundance since the programme, and life is just so much better. From Jonathan Dudley — a 30 year old IT Professional (turning Life Coach).

“I had always felt like I was not living up to my potential and that there was something more to life- something more I “should be doing”. What I discovered was that what I thought my life purpose was actually my parents/culture’s idea of what I should be- not mine! This was transformational and allowed me to finally decide for myself, based on my own passions, my true purpose. My Divine Purpose is now conscious and drives all decisions and choices I make in my everyday life.” Julie Chapman after clarifying her life purpose through the On Purpose Program at her spiritual center.

“I am just so delighted with everything you, this course, and the Life on Purpose Institute has given/provided to me.  Thank you, SO very, very much.

I have finished working through your book. It has been a very enjoyable and revealing process. My life on purpose is a life of freedom rooted in wholeness, beauty, truth, order and love. A life of worship, inspired action and full self-expression.

I was especially excited when you spoke about the Purposeful Project.  Wow, what a great idea!  How to get people out in the world being their true, serviceful selves.  I say serviceful because I have an inkling that even if someone doesn’t consider their life purpose to be one of service, or see that as a value of theirs, I don’t see how anyone couldn’t be of service to the world if they are living their purpose out loud.” Peggy Vervalin who clarified her life purpose in Living the Fulfilled Life teleclass.

Immediately I got my final wording sorted it ‘clicked’ it fits like a glove. I have such clarity, it has been great for examining my behaviors and how I relate to others, and for helping me to make quality decisions. I had so many synchronicities in the following days after clarifying my life purpose and continue to do so. A sure sign that I am on my path and that is very fulfilling, even without taking into account my planned purpose projects.

My self-esteem has received a huge boost. I am delighted that I committed and persevered. And one of the lessons God has been bringing to my attention is that ‘commitment and perseverance bring their own reward, a reward that can come no other way’. Which will stand me in good stead as I live out this purpose.

I look at my life purpose and it is truly the essence of me, and the essence of the possibilities I see for others and the world we live in.” Jayne from the United Kingdom

I’m Jude Eastman in Virginia.  I’m a reading specialist and teacher.  I’m also a life and soul coachJudeeastman.

My original Life on Purpose work in 2006-2007 helped me figure out who I was and wanted to BE after losing my parents and my marriage.  I am happy to say that I realized I am  the only one who has the power to decide my place in the world or my worth and I’m pretty dog gone priceless!  After that I soared -completing a master degree, taking a new job position in my teaching career, and completing coach training.

Recently I was ready to push forward in my second profession as a coach.  The Staying on Purpose group helped me accomplish what I’ve been talking about for three years!  I now have my first coaching workshop on the books, conducted a conference call, picked up some new technology skills.  I found out that doing new things doesn’t have to be stressful, but can be fun and I’m in control of that!

Thanks Brad for keeping me motivated and accountable  in such a heart felt way that was both challenging and safe at the same time!
