Ogg Theora is an HTML 5 open source file and player. What this means is that it does not have a license and can only be played in google chrome browser, opera browser, or firefox browser. Internet explorer has supported Apple, so it will not play .ogv files. The .ogv file is downloaded, so you don’t need to be online with an active internet connection to play in your web browser. The web browsers I listed above come with their own video player. Pretty neat, huh? That’s why I support Ogg and Webm anytime I can. Go a head and try it out. Download the .ogv file (ogg theora), then disable your internet connection. Then, right click on the file and "open with" your internet browser that’s not internet explorer. |
