THE TRANSFORMATIONAL EFFECTS OF PURPOSE ON 5 LIFE CHALLENGES: Drifting Through Life

In previous ezine issues, I introduced 5 life challenges that many people face during their lifetime:

* Work Dissatisfaction

* Overwhelm & Clutter

* Drifting through Life

* Money & Financial Issues

* Relationship Challenges

AS A QUICK REVIEW, REMEMBER THESE 2 DISTINCTIONS.

There’s an important distinction between your true, divinely inspired life purpose, which is based in and arises from the universal attractive force of unconditional love, and your inherited purpose, which is based in fear, lack and a need to struggle to survive.

Also, the Life On Purpose Perspective says your life purpose isn’t what you do.  It is, instead, the context, vessel or container into which you pour your life.  In other words, you life purpose is a powerful force that shapes your life and all that you do.

ON HOLD, ON PURPOSE OR ON RAILS

Is your life on hold, on purpose or on rails?

ON HOLD

  • Adrift
  • Little or no action
  • Little or no results

ON PURPOSE

  • Engaged in life
  • Purposeful focused action
  • Plentiful results

ON RAILS

  • Adrenaline junkie
  • Frenetic action
  • Occasional results

We’ll focus on lives that are "ON HOLD" this week.

ARE YOU DRIFTING THROUGH LIFE?

Also known as “Is-This-All-There-Is Syndrome,” drifting through life often feels like one day is pretty much like the one before, and the one before that, and the one before that.  And on top of that, each day feels like there’s something missing.  Your routines have taken over most if not all of your life and you’re simply going through the motions, without any real sense of satisfaction, fulfillment or even real challenge.

Of course, this may not be the case in all of your life, or it may. Perhaps you’re simply drifting at work, or in your significant relationship, or you’re drifting when it comes to your health and well-being.

The problem is that such ‘driftiness‘ often begins to invade other parts of your life, and before you know it; you’re stuck in the “Is-This-All-There-Is Syndrome.”

THE TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER OF PURPOSE

Helen Keller once said, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."  When we allow our fear-based inherited purpose to shape our life, we often get the ‘nothing’ rather than the ‘daring adventure.’ You see, the inherited purpose’s job is to keep us safe and secure. Unfortunately, in the process it also keeps us small.

Here’s Helen’s full quote: "Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature. Nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is not safer in the long run than outright exposure.  Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all."

When we’re willing to allow our lives to be shaped by our true, divinely inspired life purpose, the illusion of needing to play it safe and secure disappears in the face of a much larger possibility for living, and the daring adventure begins.

WHAT IS YOUR DARING ADVENTURE?

An integral part of the Life On Purpose Mission is to ‘enhance people’s lives through purpose,’ so that rather than simply drifting through life you inspire yourself to live a full, perhaps even an outrageous, audacious life, one that is shaped by and a reflection of your true purpose.

Of course, it helps to know with as much clarity as possible what that purpose is, and while you can use the ‘trial and error’ approach to gaining that clarity, this method often takes decades if not life times to work.

But what if you could cut that timeframe down to just a matter of a few weeks or months depending on your level of commitment and the amount of time you devoted to it?  That is why as part of our 10 year birthday as a spiritually based enterprise, we created the Life On Purpose Community, so we could reach more people with a proven, systematic, spiritually based and practical process that really does cut decades off the process of clarifying your life purpose.

ARE YOU READY TO STOP DRIFTING THROUGH LIFE?

You’ve probably heard the old saying, "Life is not a dress rehearsal." This is the real thing, so why waste another day just drifting through life. For some of you reading this article, you know it’s time to TAKE ACTION – to stop doing the same thing over and over, expecting (and hoping for) different results.

Will you allow me to further express my life purpose by being purposefully, passionately and playfully of service to you?  Perhaps one of the easiest and yet most effective actions I could suggest to you is that you reserve one of the last 7 Charter Memberships into the Life On Purpose Community.  Try it out for the next 30 days for just a buck ($1). Attend the group coaching; use the JUMPSTART Your Life On Purpose Audio Program and the special JUMPSTART Teleclasses that are included in your membership to STOP DRIFTING THROUGH LIFE and START DESIGNING YOUR LIFE to be consistent with your true purpose.

If you don’t find your membership to be of value, then simply let us know and we’ll cancel your membership. No questions asked and no hurt feelings. But I really feel that the combination of the Life On Purpose Process and the power of community will work for just about anyone who’s adrift in life, especially if you’re ready to commit to living on purpose.
